Potomac Edison, a First Energy company, is offering a complimentary Quick Home Energy Check-Up! A Check-Up includes an in-home walk-thru consultation and report. Hot Shotz will survey your home’s insulation, duct work, water heating, cooling and heating systems, and overall home efficiency. You will receive up to 14 energy-saving LED light bulbs. You will also receive up to 4 bath aerators, 1 kitchen aerator, 2 shower heads (standard or hand-held), pipe insulation for your water heater, and a smart strip surge protector.
During the check-up, we will also discuss other programs you may be interested in. There is no obligation to make any repairs or use our suggestions. This is an educational program to help our customers save money and increase comfort.

Home Performance with Energy Star
Learn how to increase the comfort of your home* and reduce energy costs with the Home Performance with ENERGY STAR® Program, available to Maryland residential customers of Potomac Edison for a fee of $100 (a $400 value).

This program will help you identify energy efficiency improvements that may qualify you for 50 percent off — or up to $2,000 — to cover the costs of energy-saving home improvements, including:
- Air sealing
- Duct sealing
Step 1: Get a Home Performance Audit
Get a Home Performance with ENERGY STAR audit performed by Hot Shotz. Hot Shotz is a Building Performance Institute, Inc. (BPI) certified expert who will work with you one-on-one to identify energy-saving improvements. The expert will evaluate your home’s heating and cooling systems, insulation and windows and conduct a blower door test to detect air leaks that could be costing you money.
Hot Shotz will also install energy-efficient products in your home, such as:
- Compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFLs)
- Energy-efficient showerheads
- Kitchen faucet aerators
- Bathroom faucet aerators
- Smart power strip
- Pipe insulation
Step 2: Make Recommended Energy-Saving Improvements
After the audit, Hot Shotz Thermal Imaging Services will provide you with a comprehensive report and recommend improvement to increase your home’s energy efficiency. You decide which improvements to implement. Improvements must be made by a participating contractor enrolled in the program.
Step 3: Receive Additional Savings
The final step of the Home Performance with ENERGY STAR Program is to schedule a test out audit with Hot Shotz. Having this final audit performed will qualify you to receive an incentive of up to 50 percent – or up to $2,000 – toward the purchase of the following energy-saving home improvements:
- Air sealing
- Duct sealing
